Its been a beautiful week in Paris, clear cold autumn days. too bad i havent been out during the day all week. I have been a good boy and tried to study all week (tried, referring to varying success). I'm still working on the same bloody three page essay, so I don't even want to imagine what the six page philosophical 'why should we obey laws'-essay will require.
As incredible as it is, our little parisian flat is finally connected to the world wide web! So you want to call, make the free skype calls. I'm niklas.saxen and julia (who is now surfing in Spain for a week) is juliasaxen.
Companies here don't actually have a service counter where you can physically go (if you find one, they will tell you, after waiting in line for twenty minutes, that this is the wrong place for that, and hand you a phone number). There is always a service PHONENUMBER, and you always have to call yourself. the company will never call themselves to find something out for you. The service calls are modestly priced though, around 0,34e/minute (for the internet) (anybody heard of FREE service numbers?!?!). Luckily, the calls you make only last about 10 minutes, because you have to select the service and wait in line. Also, the chances of you getting the right place on the first call are maybe 1/10. Of course, they don't connect you, you have to call yourself again. I for example called our internet company, Neuf (which doesnt even physically operate in Paris), say five times, and got a different answer for our problem each time. Now imagine doing this with every single thing you have to organize. Developing countryyyyyyy.
Okay, maybe i should actually start studying instead of fooling myself, and doing everything but..
have a bitchin' weekend.
Niklas
